You are right about the undertone, it's there and there's a reason for it. This is not necessarily meant as a scientific exploration into the marketing tactics of cosmetics companies, it's rather an elaborate rant with scientific arguments at its base. This is how I speak and I think. Most of the time I need to censor myself to please (random people, academics, etc.) and that's so tiring. Writing something like this and allowing my true voice to speak publicly is not easy. This is not meant as a piece that pleases, just maybe one that opens eyes. If anyone takes offense at what I present, it's their right and I'd be happy to hear them out. I will not, however, go out of my way to coddle anyone who reads this and feels attacked (I didn't make any personal attacks in the piece, as far as I'm aware; there's no name-calling). So please take from it what you will 😆
